> Dear Mr Dupouey
>
> How do you do. My name is Rie Groeger. I am a Japanese-born German citizen.
>
> I am writing to call your attention to a statement by five former
> Prime Ministers of Japan, Messers Junichiro Koizumi, Morihiro
> Hosokawa, Naoto Kan, Yukio Hatoyama, Tomiichi Murayama, regarding
> the plan by the Commission of the European Union to classify nuclear
> power as a sustainable energy source.
>
> I have for some time been in contact with a former ambassador of Japan
> to Switzerland, Mr Mitsuhei Murata, a prominent opponent of nuclear
> power. He provided me with a copy of a letter (attached) by the
> former prime ministers to the president of the European Comission,
> Ms Ursula von der Leyen, regarding this issue.

> The prime ministers‘ letter speaks for itself: disregarding this
> powerful appeal to the cognitive competence of those pursuing this
> mistaken policy would demonstrate their inability to conduct climate
> policy purposefully without being influenced by particular interests.
>
> I hope that the inititaive by these heads of state may aid your
> efforts to dissuade the European Commission from its intent to
> promote nuclear power.
>
> Sincerely yours,
